My Dad, Step mom and sister Kris, drove 20 hours for a visit from Michigan all the way to good ole Colorado. They came to surprise my son who fought MMA last Friday evening. A good time was had by all!

I don’t get to see my family often, when I do I count it as a blessing.
I adore Benjamin Moore Paints! Benjamin Moore announced the 2015 Color of the Year and it is lovely. A natural neutral, Guilford Green HC-116 is a silvery green that works with modern and tradtion styles coming from their historical collection.
Ellen O’Neill, Creative Director at Benjamin Moore states “Guilford Green is the perfect thread to connect nature, spaces and interiors with color schemes that signify fresh energy and growth.”
Home staging like merchandising – helps to change a homebuyers perceptions. Just as advertising and the media present products for sale to the consumer, home staging can have the same effect when merchandizing your home for sale. Simple tricks like placing wine or bar glasses on the bar counter, create the illusion of entertaining friends and family.

The good, the bad and the ugly determines your return on investment.
Plumbing and electrical may be better left to the pros. A job done incorrectly may result in health and safety risks to friends and family.
An electrical job gone wrong could lead to fire or code violations. Water damage from bad plumbing work could lead to costly water damage repairs and cleanup, as well as secondary structural damage.
I am totally beside myself with excitement. My Dad, Stepmom and my Stepsister Kris (who I love dearly) drove 20 long, butt numbing hours from Michigan to Colorado.
My Dad with Me, Linda and Kris in Michigan over July 4th.
For them it looked something like this: Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, cornfields, cornfields, cornfields, more cornfields then Colorado.
My MMA fighting son, Nicholas Clem is fighting in the Sparta fight and the family wanted to surprise him at the fight. Here is one of his past fights, just in case you are curious. He’s the one in the white trunks.
I haven’t seen my family since our 20 hour long, butt numbing drive from CO to MI over the Fourth of July. My route looked the same as theirs, as it’s the quickest other than flying.
But if you fly you miss out on all that family bonding and “how much longers” and “are we there yets”. Wink wink you’ve never heard that right?
Selfies! Daughter Chloe and Me on the Road to MI
Nicholas and I. I pull over for just about anything! LOL
Kris has never seen our Rocky Mountains and the whole bunch of ’em have never seen Nicholas fight. We are going to have sooooooo much fun!
Spur of the moment notice and me with a full house, had to reassign beds. Kicked daughter Chloe to the sofa to allow the grand peeps a bed. Kris is bunking with me, yeehaw! But it’s ok cuz I’m happy they are here.
Have a full fridge, got what I could get done, done ahead of time and it’s nothing but loving up on my peeps while I’ve got them here with me.
Ps. I will update you on the fight and the visit later. Until then, I’ll talk at ya later.
Hey, Johanna here (or Jo like my family calls me)! We all want to retain customers, right? Monday Marketing Mojo is the place to come to learn marketing tips that I have found successful.
Today I’m going to share about an inexpensive, easy tool used to communicate with your clients. It is called an auto-responder.
Auto-responders are used to communicate with potential clients and past clients.
Your autoresponder is your 24/7 assistant that will take care of reaching your clients through their email inbox. News flash: giving you more time to do other things :-).
How it works: Emails are set up to go out at predetermined intervals to a user who subscribes to your email list. If you haven’t started collecting email addresses your autoresponder has an app that you can sync with your website or blog.
The first email that you send might be a Welcome email, thanking your potential client for signing up.
The auto responder will let you schedule all future emails at intervals that you have chosen.
Write your emails as if you are writing to a friend. Share and be helpful. Here are just a few ideas:
Set up some emails that step by step teaches some aspect of your niche. Mine may sound something like “30 Days to a Clutter Free Ready to Sell Home”.
Perhaps you have written a book that you would like to promote
If you are a Realtor you could promote your new listing, informative articles about what is happening locally in the market in which you serve.
Have a newsletter? Share your archives. The best of past articles written!
Use your autoresponder to showcase how awesome you are.
Share tips, tricks and trends.
Be top of mind when your clients need your services by providing helpful email info. Check out how it works —->
Home staging a vacant home in Denver (anywhere for that matter) is important if you want to sell quickly.
Last Friday I staged this Westminster, CO vacant home and 5 days later it was SOLD, true stuff. The homesellers had a job transfer out state, leaving the property unfurnished.
Why would you stage a vacant home you ask? Let me share why…
Fall has just arrived! The fall season is a favorite time of year for me. Brightly colored trees, crisp night air to enjoy a restful night sleep. Ahhhhh!
For me the mowing is just about over and here in Colorado the first snow fall hasn’t hit (but it could) and it’s time to start thinking of fall planting for spring color.
If you are anything like me, spectacular color at my curb and patio come first signs of spring is bombdiggity.
Planting tulips, daffodils and other bulbs in the fall will allow roots to develop before the ground freezes.
It’s exciting when the bright colors of crocus, daffodils, hycinth and tulips peek through the last bits of winter snow.
Here are some tips, when fall planting for spring color:
Your bed provides the canvas for buyers to imagine maintaining a healthy, sexy lifestyle. As the focal point of the bedroom styling your bed as seen in department stores and countless magazines, provides images of five star hotels and dreamy retreats.
Throwing the comforter over a pile of jumbled sheets and calling it a day won’t work when it comes time to sell your house. If you want to get the look of a 5 star hotel bed, making the bed to give home shoppers the feel as if housekeeping stopped by to tuck in your covers, will be a top priority.
Make the bed feel sexy by adding soft, round cornered and padded headboards; high thread count sheets in summer and warming flannel bedding in winter. The soothing and tantalizing sense of touch will make a memorable experience for yourself and buyers alike.
There is nothing like plump, cushy comforters as a cozy reminder that conjures images of slipping into bed for a good nights sleep. Top it off with overstuffed throw pillows to provide a nurturing feeling.
Avoid the clutter of too many pillows, and big, oversized beds in small bedrooms. Position the bed away from but facing the door.
Stick with one color pallette of freshly washed fluffy bedding and linens. Nothing feels more like a hotel room than crisp, white, soothing blues or neutral tones for a stress-relieveing effect.
5 star hotel bed making to get the luxury hotel look:
Start with fitted sheet followed with flat sheet. Add a coverlet to extend past the sheet. Folded down over the duvet to give the feeling of opulence. Keeping sheets, coverlet and duvet similar in color to those in the photo, serve as punctuation to a luxurious bed. If using a tall headboard, place the pillows vertically to break up the large surface area.
